YOUTH FIND ANSWERS TO THEIR QUESTIONS

New SAT-7 ARABIC program, Questions & Answers in Christian Faith, offers answers to youth seeking direction. Father Bishop Helmy, an Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Priest, presents the program, speaking to the youth of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and guiding them in their faith.

Political turmoil, conflicts, and violent acts towards the Christian community have created a setting of instability and uncertainty for the youth of the MENA. They are disillusioned and have given up hope of change. Many young people, find no answers in their religious institutions, turn their backs on their beliefs and become atheists.

SAT-7 TACKLES THE NEEDS OF YOUTH

SAT-7 is creating Christian teaching programming specifically for youth, and SAT-7 ARABIC’s latest apologetics production, Q&A in Christian Faith, aims to answer questions troubling the young generations of the MENA.

Father Bishoy Helmy, a Coptic Orthodox priest in Egypt, presents the youth program on SAT-7 ARABIC

To present the program, Producer Andrew Gamal, chose Father Bishoy Helmy, a Coptic Orthodox Priest of St Anthony’s Church in Shobra, Egypt. “There is a large percentage of Coptic Christians watching SAT-7 ARABIC,” explains Gamal. “Having Father Helmy as a Presenter will also complement other SAT-7 apologetics programs that feature leaders from other denominations.”

CHRISTIAN TEACHING IN SHORT CLIPS

“Many youth struggle to give clear answers when approached by non-Christians with questions regarding the Christian faith,” says Gamal. “We aim to provide them the essential information they need in summary form.” Gamal explains that youth are extensive users of social media, so it is important to create content that is short and to the point.

Some of the topics Father Helmy addresses are questions such as: Is the Holy Bible inspired by God? What does it mean that Jesus Christ is the Son of God? Other topics tackle misinformation about the Holy Trinity in Christianity and God’s character.
