Famous actors, writers, influencers, and entrepreneurs from the Arab world are helping to raise the profile of SAT-7’s Youth for an Enabling Society (YES) project by taking part in productions aimed at inspiring the next generation in the region.

Against a backdrop of conflict, political unrest, economic turmoil, grinding poverty, and forced displacement, the people of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) are crying out for a message of hope and peace. There are many challenges to and restrictions on sharing the Gospel in the region, but SAT-7 is using the power of satellite TV and digital media to break through these barriers.

Church leaders from the Holy Land and Sudan have spoken out about the conflicts in their countries, calling for support for their vulnerable Christian communities. Churches in both places have come under attack, and Christians have been caught up in the violence.

Battered by war, an old family home in Lebanon seemed destined for dereliction. But now, the apartment has been stunningly renovated into a beautiful studio space for sharing children’s stories of redemption and transformation. The story of Hagar, a Kurdish refugee from Syria, was filmed there and broadcast on SAT-7 KIDS last week.

As churches in the Holy Land and neighbouring Jordan cancel public Christmas celebrations, SAT-7 is standing in solidarity with those suffering in the region with a schedule of Christmas programming that points viewers to the Prince of Peace. Special broadcasts include a church service from Bethlehem, children singing from a Christian school in Ramallah, and stories of faith from Iraq.

While SAT-7 KIDS’ live children’s shows took a break over the summer, the channel made sure to stay connected with its audience through a series of challenges that invited young viewers to make and send videos. Every two weeks from late August, SAT-7 KIDS released challenges that encouraged children to share their views about particular topics. The young people spoke about their summer activities, their favourite SAT-7 children’s show and what they learned from it, the meaning of friendship, and a problem at school they wished would go away.
