Economically, the country is on its knees, with an extra 15 million Afghans pushed into poverty since 2020. Socially, there is intense pressure on vulnerable groups. SAT-7, seeking to make God’s love visible in the region, has stepped up its programming for Afghans in recent months.
Giving young people a voice
The Middle East and North Africa is one of the world’s youngest regions: those aged up to 24 comprise nearly half of the population – so ministering to children and young people is a key priority for SAT-7.
SAT-7 SPEAKS UP AGAINST BULLYING
Among the many issues children in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) are facing, bullying is a problem that is often overlooked. Speak Up, SAT-7 ARABIC’s popular talk show, addresses the severity of bullying and the importance of parents tackling this issue correctly with their children.
REFUGEE CENTRE REVEALS INCREDIBLE RESULTS
The Cultural Heritage and Interactive Learning Development (CHILD) Centre in Lebanon was launched as an alternative learning facility for Syrian refugee children. One of the aims of the centre was to help measure the impact SAT-7’s educational programming had on children who were watching. As the project came to a close, the results showed that the children had made significant progress in many areas.
