SAT-7 TÜRK News makes a difference in unexpected ways
As the sole supplier of Christian news in Türkiye, SAT-7 TÜRK News both amplifies the voice of the Church across the country and unites isolated Christians and congregations as one body of Christ.

SAT-7 TÜRK News is not intended to transform lives like a discipleship program might, but stories of hope and change arising from the program still encourage the SAT-7 TÜRK family and help to spur them on. “It is important to read about feedback coming from our viewers and think about how the work we do can impact people, communities, and even those in positions of authority,” says Annamaria Cedolin, Executive Assistant at SAT-7 TÜRK.
One recent story has shown just how powerful news can be in bringing about change. “A few days ago,” said Annamaria, “our SAT-7 TÜRK News team reported on an important piece of news. A lady had gone to a Christian cemetery in Adana and saw that it was in a deplorable state. She then shared it on her social media account.”
Of course, cemeteries and graveyards are places packed with meaning. People who have experienced life-changing loss come to pray, reflect, and grieve. They are sensitive places of emotion and memories. The lady was devastated to see that the authorities had left this place of rest unkept and in ruins, but she couldn’t find anyone on social media who could make a difference.
Thankfully, SAT-7 TÜRK News was able to step in and help amplify the woman’s voice so she could reach a much bigger audience. And after only one day, the relevant authorities came to beautify the cemetery grounds, starting construction, maintenance, and cleaning work.
Although it is disappointing that it took news coverage to push the local authorities into action, at least they decided to make the necessary changes. This place of deep meaning will once again be a place of real beauty.
The SAT-7 TÜRK team hope that many families will visit their loved ones in that cemetery with a smile on their face. “Yes, their loved ones have passed on, so there will always be some sadness,” said Annamaria. “But the fact that this memorial place has been restored to its original beauty means that people can pay their respects in the right atmosphere, with dignity.”
