This summer young Christians from across Türkiye had the opportunity to encounter God in a new way and make new friends as they travelled to Smyrna, Western Türkiye, for the annual Youth Revival festival, sponsored by SAT-7 TÜRK. Hopes were high among the festival’s organisers that it would mark a significant shift for attendees between the first half of the year – with all its difficulties – and the second, a new season laden with possibilities.

As the sole supplier of Christian news in Türkiye, SAT-7 TÜRK News both amplifies the voice of the Church across the country and unites isolated Christians and congregations as one body of Christ.

“We are all beautiful in God’s eyes,” says presenter Nora Yazırlıoğlu on a recent episode of SAT-7 TÜRK’s new children’s program Great News, “because God made us with all His love in His image.” Nora’s assistant – a well-dressed dog puppet – replies, “Yes, my friends, we are all precious in the eyes of God, and each one of you is unique and special to Him.”

For SAT-7 TÜRK, engaging and supporting young Christians in their faith journey includes offering work opportunities that enable them to be role models for other young people. Here is the testimony of one of the channel’s newest employees, who is working in the Viewer Support team, helping and encouraging young viewers.

In the aftermath of February’s devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria, Turkish Christians have been showing God’s love to survivors of the catastrophe. One moving example are the members of İzmir Işık Church in the west of Türkiye, who drove 14 hours east to cook meals, distribute clothes, and spend time with those impacted by the earthquakes in Antakya.

Three weeks have passed since two disastrous earthquakes struck south-eastern Türkiye and a week since two major aftershocks. Throughout this time, SAT-7 TÜRK has been a vital resource for its viewers, especially women and children, by providing spiritual, psychological, and practical support and encouragement.

On Friday, 17 February, a team from SAT-7 TÜRK went to the area affected by the disastrous earthquake on 6 February to inform Turkish-speaking Christian viewers in Türkiye and around the world regarding the physical and mental status of people in the area and to document the latest status of the Christian cultural heritage.

Pastor Vahan İsaoğlu, the presenter of the SAT-7 TÜRK program Behind the Veil, experienced as a young boy the huge earthquake in Türkiye in 1999. He is using this experience to give spiritual support to others following the disaster of 6 February.
