Amid the instability and humanitarian crisis still plaguing Syria, a spark of hope shines from a children’s centre in Damascus, where teachers use SAT-7 KIDS programs and songs to help teach a lifegiving curriculum to children who have witnessed conflict and gone through the upheaval of displacement.

Since the Arab Spring of 2011, Syria continues to be torn by war until today. Debilitated infrastructure, lack of security, inflation, armed conflicts and continuous displacement of people, mark daily life in Syria. Mina Awny, Presenter of Family of Jesus on SAT-7 KIDS, traveled to Syria to give hope to children still living there. He shares a personal account of his visit.

A young Syrian woman who grew up with SAT-7 KIDS is living proof of the channel’s lasting positive impact. Sarah Rose, who devotes her time to serving others, credits the Christian broadcaster with helping her develop her faith and strong values – even as she spent her entire adolescence in a warzone.

A new program, Who Am I?, reaches out to Algerian women, helping them to draw encouragement, and enrich their relationship with Christ, through stories of women in the Bible. The latest episode featured a story of a woman who sinned and felt condemned, until she experienced God’s mercy and forgiveness.

SAT-7’s live services from Resurrection Church in Beirut are a blessing to thousands of Middle Eastern believers. But when the church began helping Syrian refugees, its members found they needed healing themselves – and the Holy Spirit worked powerfully, turning their anger and pain to forgiveness.

Bold initiatives are taking place in Lebanon to build peace between Christians and Muslims in the land of the cedar tree. Dr Martin Accad speaks on SAT-7 ARABIC’s program On the Go about the initiative Bread and Salt which aims to promote acceptance and appreciation between the two faiths.
