For many in Lebanon, the violence that broke out on 14 October brought back memories of the civil war. A special episode of SAT-7’s program You Are Not Alone, broadcast just two days after the clashes, shared survivors’ voices, offered hope, called for peace, and raised prayer as life becomes increasingly difficult in Lebanon.

There is an increasing thirst for Christ in the Middle East and North Africa, and this is evident in the rising correspondence on SAT-7’s social media. Questions about the Christian faith, requests for support with sensitive issues, and even queries about parenting are steadily streaming in since the relaunch of SAT-7’s Arabic social media pages, including several new brands to cater to viewers’ needs.
BREAKING DOWN LEBANON’S “TRANSPARENT WALLS”
“One activity after another broke down our transparent walls,” says Marie-Belle Milan, a 19-year-old participant in the project Lebanon: Our Story. As crisis-hit Lebanon waits on a knife-edge to see if its newly confirmed government can offer hope, this project has begun its first Storytelling Clubs, bringing together youth from different backgrounds to create change from the ground up.
SUPPORTING KIDS WHEN THERE’S NO ‘BACK TO SCHOOL’
Hundreds of millions of children worldwide remain out of school, and it is feared that 16 million may never return. With school systems in Middle East and North Africa countries among the most disrupted in the world, SAT-7 ACADEMY is stepping up its support to help children keep learning and support families’ wellbeing.

Maged Shafik’s life was once so full of danger and darkness that he was the target of attempted murder three times. Today, he is a well-known worship leader in Egypt, a man of peace and faith. To encourage the many SAT-7 ARABIC viewers, from Lebanon to Yemen, who feel they are at rock bottom, Maged shared his testimony on the worship program Keep on Singing.
GUIDING VIEWERS ON THEIR JOURNEY
As part of the digital transformation of SAT-7’s Arabic media, both our social media and our Audience Relations departments are making a vital shift. Once, both acted only as support functions for SAT-7’s satellite broadcasts. While they will continue to do this, they are now also becoming platforms for God’s love in their own right – platforms that interact seamlessly to support viewers on their journey.
