It is an extremely difficult and dangerous time to be a child in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). On World Children’s Day (20 November), we consider the challenges they are facing and how SAT-7 is supporting young people and their families with prayer, advice, and the comforting message of God’s unceasing care.

In recent weeks we have all been shocked and saddened by media reports of the violence in Sudan and the desperate plight of its citizens. Since April, more than 250,000 people have fled from the fighting into neighbouring countries, alongside nearly two million who are internally displaced. Many of them are in desperate need, lacking even basic food supplies, or have found themselves unwelcome in their host countries.
Middle Eastern families on the move
Middle Eastern families are emigrating in large numbers. The reasons are different for each family: some are forced out of their home countries by persecution or conflict, while others are pulled to new locations by better social and economic opportunities. What is common among them, though, is the struggle to integrate into their new surroundings.
