CHILDREN SHARE FEARS AND PRAYERS FOR WAR-TORN REGION
SAT-7 KIDS program Behind the Door is providing “sanctuary” for young Arab viewers frightened by the war in the Holy Land and other conflicts in the region. In a live episode last week, children shared their heartfelt prayers for those suffering and grieving, bringing tears to the eyes of the show’s presenters.
Young viewers take up video challenges
While SAT-7 KIDS’ live children’s shows took a break over the summer, the channel made sure to stay connected with its audience through a series of challenges that invited young viewers to make and send videos. Every two weeks from late August, SAT-7 KIDS released challenges that encouraged children to share their views about particular topics. The young people spoke about their summer activities, their favourite SAT-7 children’s show and what they learned from it, the meaning of friendship, and a problem at school they wished would go away.
My School filming complete – but lessons continue
My School, SAT-7’s pioneering program to provide high-quality complementary education in the Arab world, has wrapped up its fifth and final season. Since the program launched in 2015 in response to the war in Syria, SAT-7 has made over 400 episodes covering the region’s curriculum in the core subjects of mathematics, Arabic, English, science, and French.
