SAT-7 KIDS GUIDES CHILDREN ON COPING WITH STRESS OF PANDEMIC
As news and social media spread fear, children become affected by the stress of their parents. During this time SAT-7 KIDS is keen on spreading positivity through its programs to young viewers. The channel is empowering children by letting them know that they have a role to play in overcoming this disease.
In this week’s live broadcast of the program Family of Jesus, presenter Mina Awny, explains to the children their role.
“In this war against Coronavirus God gave us weapons to fight with. Our weapons are praise and worship. The Word of God says: “Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger,” (Psalms 8:2).
Mina encourages young viewers to engage with their parents in praise and worship at home. “Praise is your weapon. It’s your sword to fight the virus. The family of Jesus around the world will fight with praise,” he says holding a toy sword.
Children call in live to share their prayers with the team. Martin and his sister Carol called in live to pray with the team against Coronavirus. “Lord remove Coronavirus from the whole world and heal all the ones that have the virus,” they prayed.
Mina reminds young viewers that along with hygiene and caution they must be vigilant and prepared in their spiritual life.
“Remember God’s word: ‘For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places,’ (Ephesians 6:12)” Mina says.
A message of encouragement from Lebanon
Popular SAT-7 KIDS presenter Marianne Awaraji also shared a message in a video from home to encourage young viewers. Holding her son in her arms, Marianne shared with her followers how much she missed them and wished them all to be in good health.
“Don’t be afraid but remember that Jesus loves you and He is always with you. He says in Psalm 91 that He shall cover you with His feathers just like a bird hides her sons and daughters and protects them. He says ‘Fear not, for I am with you; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart,’ (Psalms 31:24)” Marianne says.
She reminded the children to wash their hands well many times to keep themselves clean and safe from the Coronavirus and encouraged them to find activities to do at home.
“You can spend your time at home by reading books, watch SAT-7 KIDS, or help your mother when she cleans the house. The most important thing is to make time with your family to read the Bible and learn more about Jesus,” she says.
