Wednesday Tours

SAT-7 has arranged two tours on Wednesday 18 April for all NETWORK attendees arriving before the conference. Each trip costs €60 and covers the transportation, entrance, guide, lunch with a soft drink, and tips.

TOURISTIC SITES TOUR

Damlatas Caves

The Damlatas Caves are full of stalagmites and stalactites formed over thousands of years. It has a constant temperature of 22 degrees and is believed to help people with asthma.

 

 

Alanya Castle

Alanya Castle dates from the Seljuk era in the 13th century.The wall which surrounds the castle is 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) long and includes 140 towers. Take a cable car up to the rocky peninsula for breathtaking views. 

 

 

Alanya Habour

Descending to Alanya and its harbour, explore a little of the Mediterranean coastline on a short boat trip.

HISTORICAL SITES TOUR

Aspendos
Aspendos is located on the Pamphyllian plain. It is noted for its excellent Roman amphitheatre, the finest in Anatolia and one of the best in the world. Still used for performances today, the theatre allows you to imagine what it was like to attend a dramatic performance in Roman times.


Perge
Perge is an extensive Hellenistic site, thought to be founded by colonists from the Trojan wars. Alexander the Great and his army passed through here in 333 BC. The theatre and stadium are impressive, but Perge is most famed for its Hellenistic and Roman gates and collonaded street. Paul, Barnabas and John Mark visited here on their first missionary journey, (Acts 13).

 

Antalya Old Harbour
Antalya’s Old Harbour was used by Paul and Barnabas at the end of Paul’s first missionary journey. It is now used as a marina, while many of the charming old houses currently serve as pensions and restaurants.
