CRY FOR STRENGTH!

NO CHOICE BUT TO FLEE

PRESSURE TO RENOUNCE JESUS

Adel lived in Syria where he was led to Christ by a friend. His family despised his new-found faith and soon began trying to force him to renounce Jesus. Adel stood firm but the pressure mounted to such an extent that he felt he had no choice but flee. He went to neighbouring Lebanon with nothing but the clothes on his back.

“I slept in the streets for three days,” Adel says. God miraculously provided him with a job and a room with other Syrian refugees. But when Adel’s housemates realised he was a Christian the persecution started again.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ME

“I had a glass smashed over my head and needed 26 stitches,” he says. “I then moved to a dormitory where an Iraqi Christian friend lived but there a Saudi man tried to stab us. Praise God, we were not harmed. We prayed that the Lord would open the man’s eyes to him.”

Adel watches SAT-7 whenever he can. The Bible teaching gives him strength and hope. He tells us, “I continually pray to the Lord but I don’t go to church as it’s too dangerous. Please pray for me.”

WHY ARE THE PERSECUTED CRYING OUT FOR STRENGTH?

Only 4% of the population of the Middle East and North Africa is Christian. In countries like Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan there are no official churches. In Iran Christians meet in secret house churches which are often raided by the authorities; dozens/scores of believers are in jail. Sharia Law states that men who leave Islam should be punished by death. Although not always enforced, those who become followers of Christ often experience great danger, hostility and rejection.

HOW SAT-7 IS ANSWERING THE CRY OF THE PERSECUTED?

Satellite TV is one of the very few methods of communication that oppressive governments cannot control. SAT-7 broadcasts Bible teaching programs to strengthen persecuted believers and live church services to help isolated Christians feel part of the Body of Christ.

Every day, over 800 people contact SAT-7. Our viewer support teams are available to answer questions, pray with people and offer encouragement. They send out Bibles and Christian literature, arrange Bible studies over Skype, and where possible, put viewers in contact with other Christians in their area.

PRAY FOR PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS

Pray for believers who are persecuted and have little opportunity to meet with other Christians, that watching SAT-7 will provide the spiritual strength and encouragement they need to face each day’s challenges.

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

(1 Corinthians 12:25-27)
