LIVE PROGRAMS PROVIDE FREEDOM

Your prayers are needed. We see it in the news every day. Stories about the horrors Christians are facing across the globe.

Open Doors recently reported that each month, 322 Christians are killed for their faith, 214 churches and Christian properties are destroyed, and 772 Christians are the victim of religious violence all across the world. Much of the persecuted live in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) where Christians face either extreme or severe persecution in much of the region. Yet, we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

At SAT-7, we see His goodness every time we go on air live. For many like Fathi, live programs such as Why is That?, Forbidden, and Because I am a Woman provide them with so much more than entertainment. It provides them a chance to feel united through the joy and peace of Jesus Christ. Fathi wrote from Syria to say, “You give us joy and hope at a time of difficulty and lead the youth to God. My dream is to see you live [in-person] one day. God blesses you, my brothers and sisters.”

There are still others who are like Ilanah from Azerbaijan. Ilanah is the only Christian where she lives. “Your Channel encourages me. Pray for me to meet another Christian face-to-face.” Live programs have become a platform through which countless engage in fellowship while they hear God’s Word and praise His name. Can you imagine what it would be like to be the only believer in Christ in your community? Forced to worship in secret?

Your support provides Fathi, Ilanah, and so many more the fellowship we are so blessed to enjoy. Thank you for your support. For it truly helps sustain those being persecuted and introduces the love of Christ so many desire, much like one viewer from Saudi Arabia. “I am not a Christian, and I want to know Christ. Pray for me to get a Bible so I can read the book of Matthew.”

This week was World Press Freedom Day (May 3, 2016). It is a day on which we celebrate the advances made in reporting the truth to audiences across the globe and address the issues some face in countries where reports are highly censored and reporters are at risk of physical harm. Continue to pray and support our brothers and sisters in the Middle East and North Africa and introduce others to the beauty of God’s love and peace.

Are you committed to praying for the Middle East? Or has God called you to pray for SAT-7? Consider joining SAT-7 every first Monday of the month to pray over the Middle East and all things related to SAT-7.
