Job Description

The purpose of SAT-7 is to provide Christian satellite and online television services to support the work and witness of the church in the Middle East and North Africa.

Reporting to the Chief Channels Officer, the audience relations (AR) Director is responsible for the management and co-ordination of all Arabic language audience contacts, ensuring discreet sensitive and theologically sound responses are available to viewers.  The AR Director has staff supervision responsibilities for all AR staff members of the Arabic channels.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring appropriate and new technologies are adopted to increase accessibility.
  • Develop the audience presence on screen
  • Develop and maintain the audience relations database
  • Working with SAT-7 Partners to co-ordinate follow up and response services to the SAT-7 Arabic channels
  • Development of chat rooms and other web-based audience feedback in our websites
  • Work closely with the programming department the development of ideas for improving viewers needs and answer their questions in a creative and interactive way
  • Ensuring audience relations functions comply with the SAT-7 programming policy and ethos at all times
  • Set up systems to monitor responses, maintain efficient record keeping and preparation of statistics and reports to senior staff and the International Board
  • Coordinating all feedback and follow up with the TCC worldwide

Personal and professional qualifications

  • Ability to represent with enthusiasm the purpose, ethos and goals of SAT-7
  • Previous managerial experience in a marketing or public relations field, and ability to demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the audience
  • University degree in Marketing, Social Media or related field
  • Previous experience of working in the Middle East or North Africa a strong advantage
  • Good understanding of social media strategies and practice
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills and ability to build and coordinate with a diverse team of staff
