SAT-7 PARS: Illuminating Truth and Hope for Millions of Persians
(Launch: December 18, 2006). SAT-7 PARS reaches viewers who seek basic knowledge about Christianity and those who need encouragement in their Christian faith. Iran is a country of 72 million people, more than sixty percent of whom are under thirty. Many of these young people are dissatisfied with the society around them. Sadly, heavy political restrictions and the poor economy within Iran have caused many young people turn to immoral lifestyles, drugs, and even suicide to escape their desperation. SAT-7 PARS counters what so many see as a bleak and hopeless future with the truth and the good news of Christ our Savior.
SAT-7 PARS provides a vital platform for Farsi speaking Christians who live in Iran and the wider Persian world (including Afghanistan and Tajikistan). “PARS” is a Farsi word which denotes the Persian culture. The channel is operated by Persian Christians who recognize the vital importance of supporting the work and witness of Iranian churches. Each day SAT-7 PARS airs specific blocks of original programming for children, youth, and women, as well as teaching programs for a general audience.
SAT-7 PARS broadcasts from Eutelsat Hot Bird 8 at 13 degrees East frequency Txp 122, 10,949 MHz, Vertical.
SAT-7 PARS operates 20 hours daily. SAT-7 TURK uses the remaining four hours of PARS frequency broadcast time.
